Jackson Preparatory School

CIRCLE OF HONOR

Around the flagpole in front of the McRae Building, is a circle of stones known as the Circle of Honor.  On the title stone is written:

Since its founding, Jackson Preparatory School has been shaped by individuals who, through their leadership, philanthropy, and service over many years, have cherished and guided our students, built and molded this institution, and established traditions that continue to define the Prep experience.  This circle of honor is our tribute to these individuals and their lasting influence on Jackson Prep.

One stone, at the base of the flagpole, has been dedicated to Mr. Jesse Howell, founding headmaster of Prep.  A second stone has been designated for educators.  On that stone are the names of Jane Herrington Bailey, Evelyn Wilder Bullock, Sarah Beth Jordan, and Janet Clare Smith.  Each of these ladies was part of the original Prep faculty and gave many years of service to our school.  Mrs. Bailey, Ms. Jordan, and Ms. Smith all retired from Jackson Prep.

Two other stones have been designated for benefactors and leaders.
