Jr. Class Garage Sale

The junior class garage sale was begun about eight years ago as a fund raiser for the prom.  Over the years it has grown into a very large sale and the profits it produces have grown as well.  Not only does it now help fund the prom, but last year’s junior class was also able to use some of the proceeds to make a generous donation to St. Stanislaus, a private school on the coast that was severely damaged by Hurricane Katrina.  This year the class hopes to earn enough to pay for the prom and make a donation to this year’s school charity, Stewpot Community Services.

This year’s sale is scheduled for Saturday, March 3.  There is a $5 admission fee for the “early bird” sale from 5 – 7 a.m.  In the past, as many as 500 people have attended this “early bird” sale.  Admission after 7 a.m. is free and the sale ends at noon.

It is a real garage sale.  Almost anything is accepted.  Guns, other weapons, and food items are not accepted.  Donations are accepted from families and businesses and may be dropped off in the foyer of the senior high building.  A pick-up service is available for larger items.
