Jeanne Marie Peet (B.S., Louisiana State University; M.Ed., Mississippi College) is the Director of College Counseling. A faculty member at Jackson Prep for 29 years, she has been a classroom teacher in both junior high and high school and served as guidance counselor in the high school counseling office. She was Mississippi Star Teacher in 1992. Jeanne Marie is the director and an instructor of the ACT/SAT Workshop and conducted the summer Study Skills Workshop for 27 years. An active member of the Southern Association of College Admission Counseling (SACAC), National Association of College Admission Counseling (NACAC), and College Board, she has served on the SACAC Executive Committee, been a National Delegate to the NACAC national Conference, and served as representative to the Guidance and Admissions Assembly of the College Board Southern Regional Council. She has done numerous presentations at numerous counseling and educational conferences.

Jeanne Marie is married to John D. Peet and has two sons, David Powers of Seattle, WA, and Jason Powers and wife, Bethany, of Madison, MS. She is the proud grandmother of two future Prep Patriots, Ali and Michael Powers. She is an avid tennis enthusiast, and enjoys gardening, cycling, and spending time with her chocolate lab, Lulu.
