When I graduated from Jackson Prep in 1983, I never imagined that I would return as a teacher twenty years later. Doing so has truly felt like coming home, and it is a great pleasure to be a part of the Prep community as a teacher and alumna, as well as a parent (Thaddeus, class of 2015, and Adam, class of 2017).

In the twenty years between graduating from Prep and returning here to teach I lived in Chicago (where I studied at The University of Chicago and earned my bachelor's degree in English), New York (where I studied at Columbia University and earned my Ph.D. in English), Germany (where I taught at Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz and got to know my German cousins), and Mississippi (where I taught at Piney Woods, Belhaven, and Millsaps). While at Prep I have taught 9th, 10th, and 11th-grade English, as well as speech and debate.

I live in Rankin County with my husband, Billy Cochrane, our sons, and our two dogs.
