During my senior year at Prep in 2006 in Barbara Tompkins BC Calculus class, I decided that I wanted to be a math teacher and never wavered on my decision from that moment. After four years at the University of Alabama obtaining a B.S. in Secondary Education – Mathematics, I found myself back at Prep. As a student, I was always one of those that could have sworn up and down that I would never live in Jackson after I graduated, much less teach at Jackson Prep. Now, after one year here, I can truly say that it has been the most rewarding and fulfilling experience of my life. I am truly passionate about my subject area, but more importantly my students. Prep students are extremely talented, surprising, and inspiring. Working with them for a year has only increased my passion for my job, and I look so forward to the opportunities for inspiration and encouragement afforded me every day in this and future years.
