In 2007, a year after moving back to Jackson, I was privileged to join the Prep faculty, working in Resource with Allyn Ray, and honestly, I have loved every minute of it.

I was born in Yazoo City, grew up in Clarksdale, and have lived in a dozen or so small towns all over this state. My husband Steve, aka Chief, (Prep class of ‘77) and I have three children: Miriam is a nurse with Rankin Children’s Group, Mary Elizabeth is a third grade teacher at FPDS, and Steven (Prep class of 2009) is an MSU Bulldog majoring in electrical engineering. We are all members of First Presbyterian Church. I studied business and banking at Baylor University, completed an intense international program at Middlebury College, lived in Switzerland, and then graduated from Belhaven College with a B.B.A. Even though my first “real job” was working as a legal assistant (I had planned to go to law school), I have greatly enjoyed tutoring for as long as I can remember, including home educating my own children for 15 years.
