Spouse/Children: Bob – We have lived in the Jackson/Metro area for 44 years. Parents of 2 children, 1 grandson, 1 granddaughter

Working experience: Banking; Church Administration; Corporate Administration; and School Administration

Total Years at Prep: 27 - I was privileged to be hired by the founding headmaster during the 2nd year of Jackson Prep’s organization; however, during those ground-level years there were no job descriptions. I learned immediately that you do what needs to be done, and I wore many “hats”. What an exciting challenge! I have enthusiastically served as Executive Assistant to each of Prep’s 5 headmasters and with the most wonderful group of Board of Trustees, faculty, staff and parents…not to exclude the excitement in experiencing the enrollment of the 2nd-generation of students during this tenure.  I am currently supporting and serving as Administrative Assistant to Head of External Affairs and experiencing the rewards of “giving.”

College Attended: Mississippi College. During this time, I met the husband-to-be who had completed college and impressed my parents for matrimony of their daughter.

Hobbies/Interests: Music is my love. I have been singing since high school choral music days. I am actively involved with my church choir in Madison, having sung many years with ensembles through church and community outreach.

I am also actively involved with the Jackson Chapter Executive Women International (EWI), having served on the Board of Directors, representing Jackson Prep School in membership. Through this organization, numerous Jackson Prep female students have been awarded college scholarships through the EWISP Scholarship Program. One student placed 2nd in national competition representing the Jackson Chapter. These ladies competed with other Jackson area schools – public and private. What a statement for Jackson Preparatory School!

Another personal interest of mine is physical fitness. My belief is that we only have one body….we are to give it the best care and attention as commanded by our creator. A daily challenge!

Favorite Book – Personal Statement: Throughout my life and career, I have found that “life is not all sweetness and light, not by a great deal; certainly not with its manifold difficulty, pain and frustration. In spite of all the negatives, you can bring forth the positives.” Enthusiasm Makes the Difference by Norman Vincent Peale
