JACKSON PREP COMMUNITY PARTNER OF THE YEAR

PREP SEVENTH GRADERS QUALIFY FOR TIP PROGRAM

Seventy-four seventh graders at Jackson Prep qualified for the Duke University Talent Identification Program (TIPS). PREP 2009 HOMECOMING

PREP TO PRESENT RODGERS & HAMMERSTEIN’S CINDERELLA

A prince, a pumpkin, and a glass slipper….history’s most enduring fairytale returns to the stage as 122 of Jackson Prep’s finest students present Cinderella October 29 and November 2, 2009.

Beautifully re-produced, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella shimmers to life in the most spectacular production ever of the classical musical. Directed by Dianne Pittman Holbert, Prep’s Performing Arts Chair and assisted by Drama Director Kenneth McDade, Cinderella is sure to entertain. Enjoy the beautiful sets constructed by Prep parents and the beautiful sounds of the Cinderella orchestra, consisting of several members of the Mississippi Symphony. Your eyes will delight in the colorful costumes designed specifically for the Jackson Prep performances. There is drama and action at every turn, and comedy abounds throughout the performance.

Spend the afternoon of October 31 at Jackson Prep as the Performing Arts Department offers the Cinderella Tea Part,y where cast members will be available for autographs and pictures, a pumpkin decorating contest, a Halloween costume contest, and several other events between the two performances of that day.

Performances for Cinderella are Saturday, October 31 at 2:00 p.m. and again at 7:00 p.m. and Monday, November 2 at 7:00 p.m. in the Jackson Prep Fortenberry Auditorium. Tickets for the production go on sale October 19. To reserve your tickets, call 769-233-3194 on October 19 and until the performances. Tickets will not be available until October 19.
