GAIL DERRYBERRY, originally from Laurel, Mississippi, received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern Mississippi and her master’s degree from Mississippi College. A National Board Certified Teacher, she “retired” from the Rankin School System after serving more than thirty years as an English teacher, media librarian, and a health and physical education instructor. Gail has received many professional awards throughout her career, including recognition as “Teacher of the Year.” She served as English Chair at Florence High School and has led many professional development workshops throughout her career. Her husband, Jim, is an assistant principal in Florence. They have two daughters, one who is a teacher at Florence High School and one who is a student at Mississippi College. Gail joins our staff teaching English 11 and English 10 Resource.
