LAURI BYRD is a native of Lumberton, MS. She received her BS degree in chemistry education from Mississippi State University. She has taught chemistry, biology, physics, anatomy and physiology and algebra I. She “retired” after 18 years of teaching experience at the high school and junior college levels. Her husband, Tommy, is a dentist in Florence. They have two children in college and a ninth grader in school at Florence. She joins our staff as a chemistry instructor.
