Sherye Green is in her thirteenth year at Jackson Prep, where she teaches American History on the eighth grade level. She has also taught World Geography on the seventh grade level. During her years at Prep, Sherye has served as the Junior High Counselor, coordinated orientation for new students, and served as a co-sponsor of the Junior High Student Council. Currently, she is the sponsor of the Junior Youth Assembly program, commonly known as Youth Legislature.

A graduate of Jackson Preparatory School, Sherye received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in marketing from Mississippi State University and enjoyed a fifteen-year career in business. Various work experiences ranging from the petroleum industry to a pediatric dental practice to directing a public relations program for a Chamber of Commerce provided her with a broad depth of knowledge which she brings to the classroom.

Pursuing a lifelong interest in working with youth, Sherye returned to school in 1995 to receive her teacher certification. She is currently pursuing a master of social science degree with emphasis in history and administration of justice. Sherye’s husband and two children are also graduates of Jackson Prep.

Sherye enjoys freelance writing, needlework of all kinds, reading, and walking in her spare time.
