PREP WELCOMES 47 SECOND GENERATION 7th GRADERS

PREP 1991 BASKETBALL TEAM CELEBRATES 20-YEAR REUNION

The 1991 Jackson Prep Overall State Championship Basketball team recently celebrated their 20-year reunion. This team finished the season with an undefeated record, going 37-0 and sweeping all 3 post season tournaments. Scott Stricklin, JP Class of 1988, was recently named Athletic Director for Mississippi State University.
He was the guest speaker for the College Fair Forum, which is held yearly in conjunction with the Prep college fair.

2010 - 1990 Baseball Team Honored

Jackson Prep recently honored the 1990 Baseball team on Patriot Field.
This team, coached by Mike Kinnison and Gary Noble, won the MPSA State AAA Championship in the 1990 season.

1998 Jackson Prep State Championship Football Team members

 

Jackson Prep’s 40th year of football was recently recognized during halftime of the Jackson Prep vs. Pearl High School game.
Members from this first football team honored were: Lee Johnson, Alan Walters, Bill Griffin, David Harris, Bobby Garth, Mark Warren, Mike Drake, Barry Cannada, and Mark Holland.

PREP FILM AND MEDIA ARTS CLASS HOSTS INDEPENDENT PRODUCER
Members of Jackson Prep’s Film and Media Arts Class enjoyed a presentation by John Johnston, Prep class of ‘83.  John is an independent producer and location manager who has extensive experience in the Los Angeles area, including work on TV shows such as Knight Rider and 24, and feature films like The Chamber and Pulp Fiction.  His work with Hollywood greats and his experiences in the daily work of production provided students with great insights into the workings of the entertainment industry. Ole Miss Homecoming - Noble

 

Paige Noble, Class of 2007, and daughter of Gary Noble, Assistant Head of Prep's Junior High, was a sophomore maid on the Homecoming Court at Ole Miss in October.

1974 Football team with Jack Carlisle

 

Jack Carlisle, Jackson Prep head football coach from 1971-1975 was honored at a reception on Patriot Avenue on October 3, 2008.  The 1974 Championship football team was invited to join Coach Carlisle in a recognition time during half-time of the football game.  The renovation of the film room in the Manning Center, which will be named the Jack Carlisle Room of Champions Multimedia Film Room was announced.

Brad Lindell, ’03, recently visited with Mitt Romney, Republican candidate for President, at the Pancake Pantry in Nashville.


On the Martin Luther King holiday, Jackson Prep alumni and Jackson Prep current students volunteered at Mission First, a ministry that offers after-school youth programs, sports ministry, a medical and dental clinic and a legal aid office in the West Park community. Alumni and students performed landscaping work.

The Mississippi Blues Marathon was recently held in Jackson.
John Noblin, ’83, organized and directed the course. There were 1425 runners from 42 states and 4 countries. Participants included Prep alumni, Karen White Jones, ’95, and husband, Brian Jones, ’92.
