PREP ANNOUNCES NATIONAL MERIT SEMIFINALISTS

The Jackson Preparatory School class of 2007, with 10 National Merit Semifinalists, continues a Jackson Prep tradition of outstanding performance in the National Merit Scholarship program. Since 1970, Jackson Prep has produced 471 National Merit Semifinalists. More than 1.4 million juniors in nearly 21,000 U.S. high schools entered the 2007 National Merit Program by taking the 2005 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT), which served as an initial screen of program entrants. The nationwide pool of Semifinalists, which represents less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors, includes the highest scoring entrants in each state. Susan Lindsay, Prep’s Head of School, commented, “Jackson Preparatory School is always pleased to recognize the students who distinguish themselves through high scores on the PSAT test. The Prep semifinalists in the Merit Scholarship Competition are students who bring recognition to themselves, their families and the school. Congratulations!” Pictured are the National Merit Semifinalists. Row 1 (l to r): Jaclyn Steen, Annie Horsley, Sarah Shivers, and Katelyn Dewey.
