PREP MUSICIANS EXCEL AT DISNEY COMPETITION
The Jackson Prep Singers and the Jackson Prep Band both
walked away with multiple trophies at the Festival Disney competition
in Orlando over Spring Break. The band earned an excellent rating along
with the Best in Class award for Concert Bands in their division. The
Prep Singers earned a superior rating as well as the Best in Class award
for Concert Choirs in their division and the bronze trophy as a top
award for Concert Choirs in all divisions.

PREP SCHOLARS INDUCTED INTO CUM LAUDE

The Jackson Prep chapter of Cum Laude Society recently inducted twenty-six
members of the Classes 2007 and 2008 into the elite academic society.
Dr. Will Sorey, Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the UMC Medical

JACKSON PREP WINS MSMS OVERALL TOURNAMENT

For the eleventh consecutive year Jackson Prep has claimed the overall
first place competition trophy in the Mu Alpha Theta Mathematics Tournament
hosted by the Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science (MSMS).
The competition consisted of 25 public and private schools with 790
students competing. Prep students placed first in the written test division
in algebra II and calculus. Algebra I claimed four of the top ten positions;
algebra II, three; trig-precalculus, three; and calculus, three. In
ciphering, which recognizes speed and accuracy, four member teams in

PREP HOLDS ANNUAL FUNDRAISER

The Jackson Prep PAT will hold its annual $5000 Drawdown, "Show
Me the Money" on March 24 at 7:30 p.m. in the Sparkman Auditorium.
It will also include a silent auction and entertainment by Pryor Graeber.
This event is the Jackson Prep PAT’s only fundraiser. Money raised
will go to the school’s teacher endowment fund and classroom technology.

PREP PARTICIPATES IN RANKIN COUNTY SPELLING BEE

Jackson Prep eighth grade speller Ford Franklin won the Rankin County
Spelling Bee and will advance to the state spelling bee, which will
be broadcast on PBS on Tuesday, March 20. Pictured with Ford are Prep
students who will participate in the district spelling bee on Friday,
March 2. These students will advance to the MPSEA overall spelling bee
on Tuesday, April 17 if they place 1st, 2nd, or 3rd at district. Standing
