PREP 2007 VALEDICTORIAN AND SALUTATORIAN

Jackson Preparatory School recently named Danielle Brown (right) as Valedictorian of the Class of 2007. Katelyn Dewey (left) was named Salutatorian. In the fall Danielle will attend Millsaps College. She is the recipient of the Presidential Scholarship and the Study Abroad Scholarship. Katelyn will attend the University of Virginia in the fall.

PREP BAND RECEIVES ALL SUPERIOR RATINGS AT MPSA FESTIVAL

Jackson Prep’s band received all superior ratings at the MPSA State Concert Festival. Three of the superior ratings were received on stage for concert performances and one superior rating was received for sight reading. Pictured are the members of the band. PREP STUDENTS EXCEL ON AMC 8

Jackson Prep eighth graders Brooke Holloway and Jay Fuller are pictured with their teacher and American Mathematics Competition (AMC) sponsor Dave Ollar. Holloway and Fuller tied for 1st place in the state on the AMC 8.

PREP WINS 11TH OVERALL MC SCIENCE-MATH TITLE

Jackson Prep’s 12-member Science-Math team scored 1st place overall at the Mississippi College Science and Math Tournament, making Jackson Prep the overall winner for 11 consecutive years. PREP EIGHTH GRADER QUALIFIES FOR NATIONAL MATHCOUNTS

Jackson Prep’s team came in third at the chapter MathCounts competition at Clinton Junior High on Saturday, February 24. Eighth grader Jay Fuller qualified for National MathCounts with a dazzling display of ciphering acumen. Prep’s team is sponsored by Dave Ollar.
